About us

A Lexington fence company you can talk to directly

Custom Fencing Solutions is a Lexington fence company owned by Carlos Henson. We specialize in aluminum fencing and custom wood fencing for homes across Central Kentucky. Every project starts with a walk of your fence line and a written quote that spells out footage, height, materials and gates, so you know exactly what you are getting before work begins.

  • Focused on two materials

We build aluminum and custom wood fences, and we build them well, rather than offering every fence type on the market.

  • Straight answers

Written quotes that spell out footage, height, materials and gates. If a design will not suit your yard or your HOA, we say so.

  • Respect for your property

Utility lines marked before digging, a tidy work area and a final walkthrough with you once the fence is up.

  • Local accountability

We live and work in Central Kentucky. Our name is on every fence we build here.

Our process

How your fence project works

A clear path from first call to finished fence, with nothing left to chance.

  1. Call or request an estimate

Call 859-351-1886 or send your details. Tell us your town, roughly how much fence you need and what it is for.

  2. Measure and plan

We walk the fence line with you, note slopes, gates, trees and drainage, and talk through materials and styles.

  3. Written quote

You get a written quote showing footage, height, materials, gates and price, so there are no surprises.

  4. Permits, HOA and 811

Permit and HOA requirements are checked, and utility lines are marked through Kentucky 811 before digging.

  5. Build and walkthrough

Posts are set, boards or panels go up, gates are hung and adjusted, and we walk the finished fence with you.

FAQ

Fence questions we hear most

Quick answers on materials, costs, permits and timing.

Does an aluminum fence rust?
No. Aluminum does not rust the way steel and iron do. Residential aluminum fencing also has a powder-coated finish that protects its color, so upkeep is usually just an occasional wash with soap and water.
Does an aluminum fence give privacy?
Not much. Aluminum pickets are open by design, which is ideal for front yards and pools but not for screening a patio. Many homeowners use aluminum at the front and a wood privacy fence in the back.
How long does a wood fence last in Kentucky?
A well-built wood fence often lasts 15 to 20 years with regular sealing. Humid summers and freeze-thaw winters are hard on wood, so the quality of the lumber, how the posts are set and how often the fence is sealed make the biggest difference.
How much does a fence cost in Lexington, KY?
Fences are priced mainly per linear foot, plus gates. Published Lexington cost guides put an installed 6 ft wood privacy fence at roughly $20 to $27 per foot, and national guides put aluminum at roughly $20 to $55 per foot. Your price depends on footage, height, style, gates and ground conditions, so the only accurate number is a quote after measuring. Call 859-351-1886 to arrange one.
How do I get an estimate?
Call 859-351-1886 or use the contact form. Share your address or nearest town, roughly how many feet of fence you need, the material you are leaning toward and any gates. Photos of the fence line help. We then arrange a time to measure.
Do I need a permit for a fence in Lexington, KY?
Yes, if the fence is 24 inches or taller. Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government requires a permit for all fences and walls 24 inches or higher above grade, applied for online with a site plan. Properties in historic (H-1) or neighborhood design (ND-1) overlays may have extra requirements, and HOA and deed restrictions are separate from the city permit.
How do I know where my property line is?
Start with your recorded plat or the survey from your mortgage closing, which usually show the lot lines. If the line is unclear or a neighbor disputes it, a licensed surveyor can stake it. It is worth confirming before a fence goes in.
How long does fence installation take?
Most residential fences take one to a few days on site once materials are in hand. Long runs, rocky ground, many gates or weather can add time. Permits, HOA approval and 811 marking happen before installation day.
What areas do you serve?
We are based in Lexington and serve Central Kentucky, including Georgetown, Nicholasville, Versailles, Winchester, Paris, Richmond, Frankfort and nearby towns. Call 859-351-1886 if you are not sure whether we cover your address.
